Greetings!
In line with the forthcoming Pines Fiesta Celebration, I Love Pines, Philippines Website invites interested high school students to join the 2010 I LOVE PINES, PHILIPPINES ESSAY WRITING CONTEST.
Students responding to this year's writing contest should write an essay of no more than 1200 words that addresses the following prompt:
"Explain why you are proud to be a Pines resident and how you as a young villager could help in making Pines and the world a better place to live in."
SOURCES OF INFORMATION: In preparation for writing, students should draw from their own personal knowledge and research information from a variety of sources. Primary and secondary source material could include: historical and reference material, interviews, personal experiences, oral testimonies, official documents, diaries, letters, autobiographies, newspapers, academic journals, films and television movies, CD-ROM, and Internet sources.
ELIGIBILITY
The Essay Contest is open to all currently enrolled high school students who are bona fide residents of Pines, Oroquieta City, Philippines.

The following prizes will be awarded to winning essayist:
Certificate of Recognition
10 hours FREE Internet at Winx Internet Café
FREE A4-size print portrait photo by Don Luman-ag Photography
I LOVE PINES, PHILIPPINES stickers and P150 cash
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Students MUST submit their essays along with a completed Entry Form to Mr. Don M. Luman-ag at Winx Internet Café, McKinley Street, Pines, Oroquieta City on or before Sunday, January 31, 2010.
LANGUAGE: Essays must be in English.
JUDGING: Entries will be judged anonymously and will not be returned to students.
CERTIFICATES OF PARTICIPATION: Certificates of Participation will be e-mailed to all entrants who provide an e-mail address.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNER: Winner will be notified of contest result and winning essay will be posted on our Website http://i-love-pines.blogspot.com and I Love Pines, Philippines Fan Page on Facebook by February 14, 2010.
